Hyderabad: Khairatabad Ganesh earns Rs 1.10 Cr revenue this year

The 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival in Hyderabad ended on a grand note. The Khairatabad Ganesh, one of the most famous Ganesh idols in Hyderabad, earned a revenue of Rs 1.10 Cr this year.

The idol was installed on August 31st and was submerged in Hussain Sagar lake on September 9th. The total revenue earned from the sale of tickets, donations, and prasadam sales was Rs 1,10,93,906.

The Khairatabad Ganesh is a 40-feet tall idol made of plaster of Paris. The idol is decorated with gold and silver ornaments and is adorned with flowers and garlands.

The Ganesh Chaturthi festival is celebrated with great pomp and fervor in Hyderabad. The festival begins with the installation of Ganesh idols in homes and pandals. The idols are worshipped for 11 days and are then submerged in Hussain Sagar lake.
